On Sunday, 30th August, the ladies ScratchLeague team won their penultimate match atWhittlebury Hall G.C. against Northampton G.C.
In miserable conditions with constant drizzleall day, the Northants County team overcametheir most testing opposition this season.Northampton had two County first team players inthe side. One was Hannah Mullinerwho was in sparkling form but GillianCurley kept her in check in avery high class performance which went to the17th and losing by 2/1.
Angela Duckplayed Alison Irvineand after the first two holes could do no wrong, finding the greens in regulation shots everytime and keeping putts to a minimum. Angela wonby 3/2.
Millie Billson hashad a fantastic summer, doing well in exams andreducing her handicap. This was her firstscratch league match and she raced to amarvellous win by 7/6. This was a really goodteam effort and many congratulations to Gillian,Angela and Millie. And thanks to the Billsonfamily who turned out with umbrellas tosupport.
The final match of the season is againstWellingborough G.C., the holders who have themost 1st team County players available.
