This week on the course, Over-seeding will start on the bare areas of the fairways and approaches. Greenstaff will divot the landing areas, they had planned to cut the rough but from the weather forecast it looks like it will be too wet for rough bailing.
Hedge cutting is also taking part this week but please be aware that although the brambles are starting to show fruit, they have recently been sprayed with chemicals, so we are asking that you do not attempt to pick or eat the fruit as it may prove harmful.

The Seniors gained a creditable half, with three matches each in their visit to Ashridge last week. Despite having had extensive work on their greens in the past few weeks, the course was, as always, in fine condition. The weather held and the food was as usual exceptional in its selection buffet style.
There were some very tight matches looking at the results and it could easily have gone either way. The only match not, on the face of it, tight was match 2 where yours truly and his partner were, in soccer commentary terms, well and truly "mullered" 6 and 4. Lots of fixtures coming up in September so watch out for selection sheet shortly.
