Greetings from Tim, Mark, Adam, Ben & John
A colourful send off
Club Captain Peter Cooch 21 March 1943 - 17 May 2015
Many of us will remember the colourful character of Club Captain Peter Cooch playing golf in his red trousers. It was therefore fitting that his family requested that his funeral at St Marys in Great Brington was not a sombre affair and that attendees wear colourful clothing.
While the rain poured out side there was a warm feeling in a full Church with many standing at the back.
Hollingsworth
Pictured: Andrew Nicholson (left) & Malcolm Watkins (right) combined well to win their match 3&1.
It was a busy weekend for our Hollingsworth teams with both teams playing on Sunday. The A team were at home to Whittlebury, needing a victory to top their table which they achieved in some fashion winning their match 4-1.
Our Hollingsworth team were away to Oundle, despite a great start to the matches with a 6&5 victory by Tom Bullough & James Dunkley the team unfortunately lost 3-2. The team sits 2nd in the league behind Northampton and just ahead of 3rd placed Brampton Heath.

Report
The Seniors have completed two further fixtures since the last report. A win against Frilford Heath 4 and 3 and a loss away at Tadmarten Heath.
In both games there were very tight matches as well as big wins and heavy defeats, again typical of seniors golf. The home advantage definitely tells on most occasions.
First up was the Frilford match with a big fight back late in the day.We were struggling until the last 3 matches turned things around.
Results:
Wins for Dennis Walker and David Whalley,Nick Godden and Peter Darby, and Roger Street with Paul Phillips. Halves for Ray Kingston and Bob Andrews and Roger Brady and Chris Cook. The losers on the day being Ian Kennedy and Alan Boyce and Ross Greenhill and Ray Rodley. However Ray Rodley and Ross are worth a mention after filling in at the last minute.
The Tadmarten match results:
Two winners were Ron Steedman and Frank Fitzpatrick along with Nick Godden and John Draper Halves for Frank Ainger and Roger Street,Peter Bedwell and David Whalley and William Wells and Steve Battison. Paul Osborne and John Roberts,Ray Kingston, Ross Greenhill, Peter Darby, Paul Phillips were the losers. Those whose form has dipped this season, and they will know who they are, must be conscious that the selectors have more numbers to chose from this season!
