Spring Meeting
Members encountered dry, cold and windy conditions with a course that was running fast and playing extremely difficult. This was reflected in the standard scratch (CSS) going up to 76 for both rounds. Simon Richmond set the early morning pace after round 1 he held a 1 stroke lead with a gross 74 and was the only player to better par with a nett 69.
It was a day of attrition and Tony Lord battled the conditions better than anyone else and in holing from off the green on 18 he secured a 1 shot victory over Harry Larkins to win The Spring Vase.
The Wallis Cup was won by Paul Stones who has only recently joined the golf club and is already on the honours board, well done to both Tony and Paul.
