Please note Adam & Edward had the best 163 finishing 4th with a better back 6 than Mike Abbotts and Malcolm Evans who finished 5th on c/b. Stuart Basford and Alan Brown finished 6th with the lowest back 9 score of the 163 points scorers.
Countback was used on the back 9 of the four counting cards to identify 7th and 8th as four pairs finished on 162. Glenn and Alan had the best back 9 of their four counting cards with 80 points taking 7th place.
8th place went to Mark Veitch & David Brooks who had a better combined back 6 of 54 - 2 better than Dave Goodrham and David Green with 52 after they both had the same back 9 of 79 points Jon Edwards & Chris Dowell who also scored 162 points had the lowest back 9 score of 76 points.
New course manager appointed
The club was pleased last week to announce the appointment of Robert Hay as their new Course Manager. He is due to take up his post on Monday, 2nd March 2015.
Rob joins us from Shirland, in Derbyshire where he was appointed Course Manager in 2011. Previously he had worked at Dalmahoy, Royal Porthcawl and Royal Birkdale. Rob was awarded the Top Sports' Turf Student award at Myerscough College where he achieved a distinction in his National Diploma in Turf Science and Sports' Turf Management.
A distinction was also obtained in his NVQ level 2 in Amenity Horticulture. He is an avid supporter of fast running fairways, firm fast greens and the regeneration of heathland.
On Course this week
The greens staff will be aiming to finish the work on 9th bunkers.
New Turf will be laid on top of the trench at the 11th.
They will also be clearing debris from around the copses as they continuing with the heath land recovery / STRI work.
