Competition news

Competition Round Up

The Men's Senior Club Championship was held on Friday, 25th September and over 100 Seniors took part. There were 3 trophies to be won:

Parker Bowl - 18 hole Stableford best gross score (Eligible to members 55 years and over)

Saint Botolph Salver - 18 hole Stableford best nett score (Eligible to members 55 years and over)

Millennium Trophy - 18 hole Stableford best nett score (Eligible to members 70+ years)

Autumn Meeting


Saturday saw the Club host the Autumn Meeting - a 36 Hole Medal off the White tees, with a two tee start from the 1st and 10th.  The field is limited to handicaps of 10 and below.  It was played in really tough conditions with gusty winds in the morning which reflected the relatively high scoring. 

Well done to Callum Farr who won with 143, 2 shots ahead of Tom Bullough. 

The best gross in the morning went to Josh Pritchett with an excellent 71, closely followed by Joseph Quinn, Nick Beal and Tom Bullough who all shot a gross 73.  The best nett in the morning was Nick Beal with a fine 69.

The afternoon saw Max faulkner take best gross with a superb 67 an also the best nett with 67. 

Adrian Harris won the Regimnetal Cup (best nett) with 143 on countback from Tom Bullough. 

Thanks to those members who helped on the day.

Ben Jones was away last week competing in the European Amateur Championship  at Zurich Golf & Country Club. Ben finished Tied 26th on 4 over par. 

Junior Captain Joe Quinn is competing in The North of England Amateur Championship at Alwoodley this week, we wish him well.

Junior Captains Day

On Sunday, Joe Quinn hosted his Juniors Captains Day. Joe has been a great Junior Captain this year given the circumstances, he has shared his time between junior commitments, club competitions and external competitions. Well done Joe. 

Eloise Feely-Ley was named his Vice-Captain and will take over later this year. We are very fortunate to have several strong candidates for Junior Captaincy.
