It was bobble hats to the ready at the weekend as the cold weather arrived for the Mens winter league. The weather however did not affect the inform players with a familiar look to the winners for WWL round 4.

Christmas in the shop

We are ready to help you get the perfect gift for a loved one this Christmas. Whether it be under the tree or in a stocking, why not pop in to the store and see what we can do for you?

It has been nice to see friends and family of members calling in this week. We hope this is a sign that more people are feeling comfortable visiting the club. In the run up to Christmas we are open to 5pm.

As we approach the end of the year and the time of good will, perhaps we should take a moment now and again to look back on the year, remembering the good times we have sheared with some of the members we have lost. We should also be grateful that we are still able to enjoy this wonderful game, the friendships and camaraderie it offers us. Please don't forget as you reflect the year the charitable work the club undertakes as it is often at this time of year it makes a difference to the recipients'.

On behald of Crazy Hats, I am writing (Somewhat belatedly - we really have been busy) to thank you and the members of the Northamptonshire County Golf Club so very much for your generous donation following your Charity Pro Am; we are truly grateful for your contiunued support, knowing the amount will make a considerable difference in our quest to further enhance breast cancer care here in Northamptonshire.

As you are aware, we continue to fund projects at both Kettering and Northampton General Hospitals, but we are concentratring heavily on progressing with our support and therapy services which are high in demnd. At the present time we offer this just once a week, but the need is such we would like to be able to provicde a daily service. For this to happen, we need to relocate to bigger and better facilities - those going through breast cancer deserve it. So, the challenge is on! It is a huge undertaking, but not impossible!

Also, next year we will be celebrating the magical £2 million - you will be invited!

It was winter mitts for the 9th December Ladies Foursomes 

Played on the coldest morning of this winter so far the ladies had all their winter clothing on. It was a white frost for the early starters, but the main greens were still in play.

Two-time major champion, John Daly, capitalised on his second round lead by carding a level-par 72 at Gloria Hotels & Resorts' New Course in Turkey to win the 2014 Beko Classic with a total of -15 (201), his first Professional win in ten years. The American superstar Professional took the honours and the donated his $8,000 winner's cheque to local charities.

Just that one shot behind was 2013 Beko Classic Champion, Robert Coles who's three excellent 60s rounds - 68, 67, 67 - enabled him to finish at -14 (202), tantalizingly close to a hat-trick of Beko Classic wins.

First round leader, Chris Gane, along with our NCGC Professional Paul Broadhurst, shared third place with totals of -13 (203). Paul made the most ground on the final day with a closing five-under 67 to move up the rankings,
