The course staff are busily collecting leaves before they start to decompose and changing the soil.

Grazing by sheep, cattle, ponies and goats, as wild herbivores such as deer, has long been regarded as an important management tool for heathland, and the decline of domestic livestock grazing is often reported to be a major cause of heathland loss in Europe.

A cessation of grazing can allow the development of scrub, trees and bracken. Our fairway mowers may replace the grazing animals on the fairways but the abundance of leaves is a constant battle.

Fitting news

Are your irons older than 12months?

If so, it is very worthwhile in having your loft and lies checked. Repeated impact with the ground will easily alter the lie and lofts of your clubs, especially so if your irons are forged.

Cost is £30.00 per set of irons.

Want your lies checked to ensure they are correct, then book in with Lewis for a session. Total cost £45.00.

Why the gap?

It's brilliant to see more club golfers getting fitted for new clubs now than ever before, and long may that continue!

But why would you not get fitted for your wedges?

With modern lofts on irons being stronger than ever (one of the reasons today's irons go further than a decade ago), golfers are often left with huge gaps between clubs at the bottom of their bag.
