Stableford Saturday 30th November /Sunday 1st December

Despite thick fog and sub-zero temperatures at the weekend, 90 members took part in the Stableford on Saturday and the Alt Stableford on Sunday.

Many congratulations to Phil Hardcastle who scored an excellent 43 points and was the overall winner. Divisional winners as follows:

Division 1

1st - Simon Richmond - 38 Points

2nd - Richard Peters - 37 Points (cb)

3rd - Lee Ault - 37 Points (cb)

Division 2

1st – Mervin Bateman - 40 Points

2nd - Simon Heath - 39 Points (cb)

3rd - Martin Sharman - 39 Points

4th - Petar Starcevic - 38 Points (cb)

A Junior 18-hole Stableford was held on Sunday, 1st December.

Congratulations to Eloise Feely-Ley who scored 42 Points and cut her handicap from 22 to 20.

England Men’s squads set for 2020

England Golf has today named the Men’s and ‘A’ squads which will compete during an exciting year of competition in 2020.

Nine players will comprise the men’s squad with a further eight taking part in ‘A’ squad training.

Northamptonshire provide a trio of players for the squad in the shape of Ben Jones (NCGC), Callum Farr (NCGC) and Robin Williams (Peterborough Milton GC).

Jones (pictured above) reached the semi-final of the Amateur Championship in 2019 and retains his place while Williams steps up from the boys’ squad after a year in which he won a professional event on the MENA Tour.

Farr – runner-up in both the Spanish and English Amateur Championships in 2019 – makes the move from the ‘A’ squad.
