Greetings from Tim Rouse
The Pro Shop Northamptonshire County Golf Club - PGA Golf Professional

It's all go on the course now, with the winter programme in full swing.

The 15th hole has started to show how it will look when finished, and the river bank to the right of the green is taking shape with the sleepers now on show.

The river banks have also been reshaped through to the bridge on the 9th hole. Drains have been installed at various wet spots around the course by contractors Tate's . The greens staff will now move in to returf and tidy the rough work left behind. Please take relief from the newly turfed areas when playing.

Winter Weekend League #3 Results:

Well done to Danny Roberts & Paul Harris, who won on countback. The County Foursomes champions are looking just as strong in this Fourball Betterball format.

2nd Jon Edwards & Dr Chris Dowell 44 points
3rd Simon Richmond & Ken Stroud 43 points

Well done to Denise Brady who won last week's medal on countback. It was tight at the top with four nett 72's returned. Karen Lobb shot an impressive gross 77 to finish 2nd in Division 1.

Seniors

The seniors combined with the Ladies for the second time this year in a Texas Scramble format. Teams consisting of two men and two ladies were selected by respective captains for the day, Roger Street and Stephanie Goodings. Ten teams took to the field on a fine day.

The selectors appear to have got it about right with the spread of handicaps throughout the teams given the closeness of the final results. Winners were Dennis Walker, David Whalley, Angela Duck and Andrea Alston with a score of 70(7.9) Nett 62.1

Second were Colin Miles, Steve Battison, Laura Steadman and Mary Garner with 71(8.5)Net 62.5 Third were Roger Brady, Terry Butcher, Sue Lane and Joan Matthews with 74(7.4)net 63.6. Only one shot in it!!

Play was followed by a light meal and a few drinks and an enjoyable day was had by all. This format of play in the get togethers introduced a couple of years ago has proved to be a great success and it is intended to continue with it as a result.

Juniors

The re-arranged Auchterlonie Putter was played on Sunday and as many of you will know Malcolm Peel has always presented the trophy, and was sorely missed.

It was great to see Marion at the club to present the trophy to George Elderton & Fergus Robinson who won with nett 75.5 in testing conditions.
