Finals Report

Since reporting last week, a couple more finals have now been played.

James Dunkley and Paul Stones have won the Chamberlain Trophy for the second year in a row after beating Andy Billson and Jay Hall on the 19th hole on Saturday.

The Lees Knockout was won on Wednesday by Simon Bevan & Andrew Rudkin, the pair started the day 1 down through 3 holes to Simon Blundell and Quentin Wade. Simon & Andrew won 2&1.

There are now two matches from Finals Weekend still to be played, which are the Ladies Deterding Cups and Junior Knockout which are both being played week commencing 28 October.

Ben Jones is playing Club De Bonmont, Spain whilst Sam Broadhurst will play Alenda Golf, Spain. Play begins 7th November and scoring can be found via the European Tour website.

Who had a pair of these?

I'm sure the shoes below will make a lot of you smile. It's been a long time since golf shoes looked like the first image and it's safe to say that comfort, style and traction have all come a long way since then - even if some of us think the overlapping tongues looked great!

Old style shoes

It wasn't just the daring uppers and striking tongue that defined golf shoes from yesteryear; flip the shoes upside down and the hard leather outsole featured single metal spikes that resembled weapons more so than traction pods.
