County Cup Saturday saw the Club host the County Cup, a 36 hole Medal, played off the white tees with a 2 tee start. 57 of the best Midland players of handicap 5 and under competed for the coveted trophy. Cory Neville, from NCGC, carded the best round of the day with a superb four-under par 66 to lead the field in the morning, closely followed by Richard Wale from the Leicestershire (Gross 68) and Tiger Adams from Wellingborough (Gross 69) with Charlie Slater (NCGC) and Adam Dorricott (Chilwell Manor) a further shot back on 70. In the afternoon, 3 players, Joseph Quinn, Joshua Pritchett and Tiger Adams shot a Gross 68 with Richard Wale a further shot behind on 69. Charlie Salter recorded another solid 70 to finish on a total of 140. With 2 players on a total of 137, Tiger Adams and Richard Wale we had a sudden death play-off down the 1st and 18th holes. The only problem was, they kept matching scores and the play-off kept going ... and going ... and darkness kept growing nearer and nearer. They wound up running out of daylight before they ran out of holes. Tiger Adams and Richard Wale tied each other on 8 successive play-off holes, and by that point it was simply too dark to continue. The players and officials decided to halt the play-off and declare the two players co-champions. In total the Club had 5 players in the top 15:
