Winter rules
The Winter Course is now in play, along with "Winter Rules" . A quick reminder that the blue tees are for Ladies and the green tees for Men.
Please can we remind all members to do their bit with repairing pitch marks. With softer ground conditions, these will become more frequent and it only takes a few seconds to repair. If it's left it could be weeks to heal.
14th green - The remaining Leylandi trees have been removed to the right of the green on 14. This will improve grass growth and the overall condition of that area.
The worn area at the first is one of the first areas to be returfed.

David Adams with Frank Ainger were really up against it with a 6/4 loss against a very strong pair. One of the opposition played off 19 and secured an opening hole win with a 4 net 3, and it went on and on!! Finally Captain of the day Terry Butcher with Roger Street were mercilessly hammered 7/6, with one of the opposition playing off 12 and never having set foot on our course previously, shot a gross 78. On Sunday, Rhys Taylor (5) and Taylor Morgan (23) played our Junior Knockout Final. Taylor, who was receiving several shots from his close friend Rhys closed the match out in fine style with a Par 4 on the 17th hole (nett birdie) as Rhys' birdie putt agonisingly lipped out.
The Shires Junior Golf Tour
Several of our junior members, young and old were in fine form at the Shires Junior Golf Tour Final.
George Elderton fired the leading score in the Grand Final of the 2014 Shires Junior Golf Tour at Northampton GC. George already has a place in SJGT history after shooting the best round in the opening event at Kingsthorpe in May, when he bagged 41 points.
Jack Brown relished the challenge of competing with the lowest handicap of plus one as he bagged 37 points in the Golf category to finish four ahead of his nearest rivals.
Max Faulkner (Brampton Heath & Northants County) finished on top in the Order of Merit standings for the top division.
Jackson Harris (son of Paul & Grandson of David's) grabbed the plaudits in the 9 hole competition with 22 points.
Northamptonshire Golf Partnership Order of Merit Grand Final
The final of the season-long order of merit took place at Northants County Golf Club on Wednesday, 29th October. Qualification for this event took place during the summer over a series of junior open competitions around the county. To qualify for the final, players had to finish in the top 12 places in the boys table and top six in the girl table at the end of the season. The event was once again kindly sponsored by Moulton College and FootJoy/Titleist. The day was mild and started a little drizzle which for the late starters became steady rain but this did not dampen the spirits of those attending.
The final was split in two events. The Girls' Final and the Boys' Final with two divisions gross and nett.
Eleven boys and six girls played an eighteen hole medal to decide the overall champions. The scoring reflected the weather but a number of standout scores settled the final results.
The Girls Champion was Ellie Darnell of Wellingborough Golf Club with a score of 83 and the boys Champion Tom Forster of Oundle who shot 73.
The nett prizes went to Hattie Billson - Northants County with a score of 76 and Fergus Robinson also Northants County with a score of 71.
At the prize presentation, thanks were given to the golf clubs around the county for their support in hosting the twelve qualifying events, the arrangements for next season are well in hand and will be published shortly on the various competition web sites.
