Competition news

Men's Hollingsworth

Well done to the Men’s Hollingsworth A team who won away to Overstone (2-3) on Sunday.

Unfortunately, they did not win their league courtesy of holes won/lost. Great effort still the same!

Ladies news

Swing Out Sister Day

Friday 7th June we will again turn the Shop over for the day to Swing out sister.

They fill the shop with their summer lines and other brands for the day.

A display and stock of Ladies Clothes for all members and visitors to see, try and buy.

Extending the Patio

The course staff were hard at work last week extending the patio.

Despite lots of helping advice from the members they managed to overcome the changing levels.

Junior news

EG Boys County Championship

Well done to the NGL County Boys who won at Robin Hood last week. The NGL County Boys team were all Northamptonshire County members – Josh Pritchett, Joe Quinn, Corey Neville, Luis Witherall, Owen watts and Harry Oddy. Also well done to Adam Myers for his role as coach/manager in their success.

NGL County Championship

Many congratulations to Eloise Ley who competed last week in the NGL Girls Championships at Cold Ashby Golf Club.

Shooting a superb nett round of 65 in the morning she won the NGL Irish Cup and Daily Telegraph Nett Qualifier. 

Not content with that, she then went on to add another great afternoon nett round of 66 to be the NGL Girls Nett Winner Overall (-11 in total).  

Great play Eloise, the new U18 NGL Girls Nett Champion - well done!

Club Junior Teams

We have 2 Junior teams competing in the NGL Junior League. It is great to see such a mix of ages and ability.

Stableford 2nd June

Eloise Ley continued her great form in to our Junior stableford on Sunday scoring 47 points (with 3 blobs).  Eloise has seen her handicap cut to 25 – well done! Callum Sainsbury was also in fine form scoring 42 points and seeing his handicap cut to 24.

In Division 1 Corey Neville pipped Josh Pritchett to the win.

Time for a little reflection

Who doesn’t love the month of June? Long evenings, blistering sunshine (might be a little optimistic here) and plenty of opportunities to hit the course. With much of the season left to go and more competitions on the horizon, it’s time to take note of how you’ve been playing so far this year.

How are you playing in 2019

Scenario 1

Hopefully, you've been playing regularly to your handicap or, better still, shooting under it. If that’s the case then happy days, keep up the good work!

But we all know there’s room for improvement.

Perhaps you don’t use a particular club as often as you could simply out of a lack of confidence with it? Or maybe you’re struggling with a destructive shot that is impacting your scores?
