Autumn Meeting
It was a Damp start to the Autumn meeting with the course playing longer with the wet conditions. It was tight in the Gross as several players such as Tom Bullough, Danny Roberts, James Dunkley and Brian O'Connell recording 74's in the morning whilst Harry Larkins, Charlie Salter and Matthew Myers who struggled early on remained in contention, all a few shots behind.
Despite remaining cloudy all day, the rain stayed away for the afternoon rounds which suited Matthew Myers who started strongly with 3 birdies and 5 pars in his first eight holes which proved to be a good platform to a level par 70 despite losing a ball up 13. The score proved to be too good for the rest of the field as Matthew won by 3 shots over Tom Bullough who like most, couldn't match their morning score.

A Mixed Season
"We have now played the final Mixed Social Match of the summer, suffering a heavy away defeat at the hands of a strong Woburn team last weekend. Ameliorated by very hospitable opponents and the beauty of the Dukes Course. We also had narrower home losses against Temple and Tadmarton Heath but triumphed away against Gog Magog. The result is by no means the only factor the fixtures invariably being most enjoyable matches against friendly opponents and on good away courses. For some reason lost in the mists of the past these matches are organised by our Vice Captains so we wish Frank and Denise success and enjoyment next year. We have asked them to ensure that all who want to play get a turn, particularly those who did not make it to Woburn. We are pleased to report that in principle the Management Committee have kindly agreed to two additional matches next year, one home and one away. Roger Street is kindly in discussions with Copt Heath and Longcliffe as likely opponents"

Our Club Junior Team won through to the Final of the County's Inter Club Junior Matches, played on Sunday 21st September at Overstone GC vs. Peterborough Milton. Thank you to David Goodrham, Malcolm Watkins, Danny Roberts and Parents for their support on the day.
George Elderton once again showed his matchplay skills and growing maturity, getting ahead early on and never giving his opponent a look in. Hattie Billson showed how much she has progressed this year with some incredible shots and a calm focus under pressure. Taylor Morgan got ahead early before being pegged back, for him to reply once more and see his match out in fine style. It was an extremely close match, with the match finishing level at 3-3. The first pairing (Rhys Taylor) had to go out again for sudden death and at the 1st hole it went favour of Peterborough Milton with a nett Par 4.
