Christmas competition The seniors held their annual Christmas competition managing to avoid all the recent bad weather. A record turnout of members saw 116 players using a shotgun start for a greensome format on the day.
The results:
Nearest the pin prizes went to Richard Kendrick, Duncan Slin and Mike Cheney on the 3rd, 12th and 15th holes respectively.
The winners were Andrew Pearse and John Bennett with 44 points.
2nd place went to Steve Denbigh and Ron Morrell with 41 points on countback from Les Worthington and Mike Marriot who were 3rd.
4th place went to Martin Hart and Charles Thomson on 40 points.
The competition was followed by a buffet meal which was well received. After the event there was a presentation to Roger Street in recognition of the sterling service he has provide over the recent years in managing the seniors.
Roger has decided to stand down and have a well-earned rest. The members who play in the seniors matches donated £240 to the fund which is well deserved. Dennis Walker
