English Champion Club event Our team of Danny Roberts, Charlie Salter & Ben Jones were in Devon last week.
The event was open to the men’s Champion Club of each County Union. The three-man teams played 36 holes of scratch stroke play over two days.
The winning club was the one with the lowest combined score of all three players over 36 holes. The winning club will represent England in the European Men's Club Trophy.
Our team managed the conditions well on a windy opening day on a tough course to tie 3rd 6 shots back in good position for the 2nd day. Despite a big effort and good scores from the team on the 2nd day it wasn’t quite enough to take the number one spot. A fantastic effort by the team however to finish 2nd from the 33 counties. Well done Danny, Charlie and Ben.

Scratch League results A big win away from home on Sunday at Overstone and a loss for Peterborough Milton makes it 3 wins on the bounce and means a 5.5-2.5 home win on Sunday, 8 October against Wellingborough will be enough to take the title. Well done to the team and a special mention for Paul Harris who won the last 4 holes to take his match 2up when the scores were not looking favourable. |
