Captain Malcolm Watkins hosted his Captain's Day on Saturday; the day was a huge success with good weather, good support and good company. Malcolm would like to thank everyone as £163 was raised for his chosen charity

Wanted Thief
Club Member Ray Masters was most put out last week. When playing the 9th hole Ray became the victim of a terrible crime. Ray thought he would open his mid round snack, a cheese sandwich a little early than the half way point , while playing his approach shot to the 9th. Having carefully placed the sandwich on his bag to play his shot, Ray was shocked to see the culprit swoop down and abscond with his sandwich. We have suggested to Ray he tries Tuna in the future.
Thursday Stableford
An ever young Mike Marriott came in with 41 points to win Thursdays Stableford. Once again there was some excellent scoring despite the course playing tough. Ben Jones won best gross with 38 points off his 1 handicap.

CECIL LEITCH MATCH
On Sunday 15th June the team consisting of - Millie Billson, Mary Wetherly, Alison Shine, Diana Murkin, Hattie Billson, Diana Wells and Geeta Patel played a match against Whittlebury Park (Away)
Whittlebury are the current holders of the Cecil Leitch Shield and have a very strong team.
Sadly our team lost 6 - 1 . Our girls had to give a lot of shots over the Red and Blue courses, and local knowledge played a large part in the matches.
It was the first time in our Cecil Leitch matches that we have two sisters in the team, and we hope to see more of them in the competition next season.
Our next match will be against Rushden on Monday 7th July
Correction from the Mixed Open report Last week when we omitted to mention club member Pam Toesland who along with invited partner for the day Chris Ellson finishing in 4th place .
Seniors review from Denis Walker
The seniors season is now well underway and has generally provided success in the team matches Thus far we have experienced success at home against Burford, Woburn and Tadmarten and away at Kettering. We have halved away fixtures at Tadmarten and Kirby Muxloe and suffered narrow defeats at Luffenham and at home to Frilford Heath.
The weather has generally been kind to us except for those who played at Tadmarten when the heavens opened relentlessly.
Generally the courses we have visited have been in fine condition such as to make for an enjoyable day out. The most recent fixture at Kirby Muxloe deserves special mention as the greens were exceptionally fast and true despite being top dressed just before we started our match!!!
It is perhaps worth reminding all seniors members that the fixtures are all open to participation by all aged 60 and over and anyone interested should simply put their name down on the match fixture sheet which posted in the gents lobby approx 1 month before the match.
Everyone is welcome and will get selected at some point depending on numbers interested for particular matches.
The format is better ball match play with pairs generally being selected on a higher with lower handicap basis wherever possible.
