Christmas Seniors
The Seniors held their annual Yuletide competition in Spring time weather conditions. 91 players entered, and hopefully enjoyed, the 18 hole Greensome competition. Thanks must go to the assistance and support provided.
Donations of wine by Elaine and Coffee by Adam helped greatly and there should be a special mention to Frank Ainger who manned the halfway hut and provided, from his own pocket, the drinks enjoyed thereat by the contestants. Frank was ably and very kindly assisted by the ladies section with Lady Captain Jane Shearer and Pam Oliver!
The results were:
Overall winners with a fine score of 44 were Andrew Pearse and David Crossley. 2nd with 42 points on count back were Richard Parker and Neil Hufton. 3rd Anthony Ambrose and Laurie Roach with 42 points. 4th with 41 points again on count back Malcolm Watkins and Leigh Moss. Just missing out were Richard Lobb and Paul Osborne.
There were 3 novelty prices;
- Nearest the pin in 2 on hole 4 won by Chris Fountain and Phil Forrest
- Nearest the pin on 12 won by Leigh Moss
- Nearest the pin in 3 on 18 won by Dave Barnett and John Cordner.

Golf Lane
The resurfacing of Golf Lane will commence on
Monday, 9 January, lasting 3 weeks. The works will cover the area from the Golf Club entrance to the junction of Sandy Lane.
During this time, access via Sandy Lane will be restricted whilst preparatory works are undertaken.
The contractor will try their best to accommodate, but there will be periods of inconvenience. When final surfacing works are carried out there will be no access along the length of road for the day. We will notify the exact surfacing works closer to the time.
Access to the Golf Club will be via Harlestone Road until completion. Residents who live on the affected side of Sandy Lane are able to use the golf club to park their vehicles during the period in question.
