Cecil Leitch
The Cecil Leitch team had a match against Northampton at Home on Friday, 13 May. Friday, 13 was not to be unlucky day for our Ladies as won with a clean sweep with a 7 - 0!
The team was Kate James, Di Murkin, Alison Shine, Vanessa Barrow, Laura Steedman, Geeta Patel and Viv McManus. Northampton brought a very good team and of course being so local knew our course well, but they were no match for our girls.
This is a great boost for the team following on their Away win last week against Kettering. On Friday, 20 May we play Oundle Away and we shall hope to keep up the good work.
Heather Williams Cecil Leitch Captain
Seniors v Woburn
The Seniors played their third match of the season at home to Woburn. This was the first leg of the annual match competing for The Brampton Buck on a home and away basis.
Captain for the day was Paul Phillips, and a fine job he did. The match resulted in County taking a 5 to 2 lead to Woburn in August.
Only one match was lost with two halves figuring in the final analysis. Shades of Jean Vande Velde were experienced when one of the opposition entered the water at 15 without shoes and socks!
However we did not witness a stroke simply the recovery of his ball!
Times are obviously hard "down south"!!
Our teams results were:
Wins for : Darby and Walker, Parr and Battison, Kennedy and Boyce, Pounds and Spokes
Half for: Phillips and Street, Steedman and May
Loss for : Wells and Cordner
We now have a 2 to 1 win against loss record for the season. The games will come thick and fast so get your names down!
The June sheets are now posted in the lobby.

Last week we had a huge flush of growth with the annual meadow grass seed heads appearing everywhere. This happens every year at this time as the warmer weather arrives and will last until the grass stops seeding. The greens will slow dramatically through the day as the grass grows and the seed heads appear.
With slightly colder nights this week, the rate of growth may have slowed a little but it's going to be all hands to the mowers again.
To do this week:
- Bunkers are due for strimming again. - Bramble spraying to continue. - Wetting agent and selective weed killer spraying on the tees and fairways.
Busy weekend here at the club with plenty of fixtures going on.
Thursday, 19 - Stableford - Handicap League vs Cold Ashby
Friday, 20 - Seniors vs Frilford Heath
Saturday, 21 - Lees Cup
Sunday, 22 - Alt Day Coronation Foursomes - Handicap League vs Cold Ashby
