Greetings from Tim, Mark, Adam, Ben & John.
Ryder Cup Evening
We had a very enjoyable meal and evening on Friday when 60 members and guests welcomed The Ryder Cup. Entertained by Guest speaker Sandy Jones CEO of the PGA and Ryder Cup Board member, who told stories of the Ryder Cup and its history, followed by our Touring Professional Paul Broadhurst who played in the 1991 Ryder Cup (the war on the shore).
Members had their hands on the Cup for photos throughout the evening.
25th Anniversary Thank you to the members that sent me kind words in emails and cards congratulating me on 25 Years at the club.
I had emails from members on holiday and travelling with work from all over the globe.
I would also like to thank all the members for the special gift of an engraved decanter and glasses presented to me by
David Green on Friday.
Last week the course staff were screening the spoil from the bunkers for material to topdress the fairways with.
For those of you who played last week you will have seen the machinery did not take the stones out of the fairway dressing. This problem was the first on the list to rectify this week removing all the stones from the fairways dressed.
Other work to be done:
- There's still work to do on the bunkers, sand filling and strimming.
- Cut brambles require collecting and can now start to be sprayed.
- Scarify winter tees.
- De-limb oak 17th tee.
- Edge and weed paths.
- I saw a small amount of growth yesterday.
Regards
Rob Hay
Course Manager
