Wet Wednesday
It started raining at 1.30 am on Wednesday and by 9am we had 34ml of rain. The course was closed at first light when the course staff could see that the greens were under water. By 9.15am the course weather station was showing the rainfall had past 35ml, that's over 1 ½ inches. The river took a while to rise; the pictures below show it at 12.30. This will be the 3rd time in 28 years the water has run over the concrete bride at 15.
The course was closed for the day as the rain just kept coming.

Course Report
This week, there are a few tees remaining that require vertidraining. The gorse work on the 18th and 9a need to be finished. The chipper had to have a new exhaust fitted last week which put a hold on the gorse programme. We had a small group of trees blow down on 7a last week. These need to be logged and taken up to the sheds.
There is still a small amount of turfing to finish around the course. We have started to cut out the greens back to the sprinklers. The irrigation boxes are being trimmed and cleaned out and the course sprinklers are also to be trimmed. SJS will be at the Club on Wednesday and Thursday to start up the system. A note went out in Friday's connect.
The greens will have an application of granular fertiliser within the next couple of weeks as the temperatures have started to lift and I want to encourage some growth on the surfaces.
