Juniors It was the coldest night of the year as BBC turned up to film our juniors for Look East last Thursday. It was the first night the club tried out the new flood lights kindly supplied by Barclays "Spaces for Sport".
The idea of the competition after school soon changed as BBC took over positioning the young players for the best camera angle.
The live feed at 7.45pm gave the juniors the opportunity of a sandwich and a warm up in the club house before a return to camera shot at 7.30pm. The live show went out interviewing Mark and 2 of the members.
Growth-Degree-Days (GDD) are a method of measuring / quantifying the plants growth potential, year-on-year. They were adapted for turfgrass growth, primarily for the timing of Plant Growth Regulators with respect to seedhead suppression.
A degree day, also known as growing degree days and heat units, is a measure of heat above a threshold for one day. Growing degree accumulation is a reflection of the accumulated degree days, or growing degree days or heat units above a threshold for consecutive 24-hour days. The threshold temperature, or as it is commonly known as the base temperature has been set to 6°C for turfgrass, as this is required for the initiation of shoot growth on our resident grass species.
